I was a little burned out on exercise

Posted in Unspecified

Back in the day, I was an athlete. Seriously! I actually swam my way to college on an athletic scholarship. I trained my little butt off and was somewhat competitive in the world of NCAA Division I swimming athletics.

After college, though, I was a little burned out on exercise and didn really keep up with it as much as I should have. Once or twice a week, I would run a couple of miles with David, practice a few yoga moves in my living room or head off on a hike or walk with our two dogs.

When I got pregnant, my doctor advised me that it was healthy to continue most exercises that I had been doing regularly before pregnancy. Oops. What if I didn have a regular exercise routine? While answers may be different for everyone, she advised me that I was in good enough shape that I could continue some of the smaller paced activities.

With that said, I haven continued running at all, but I have continued walking and practicing yoga and pilates. In fact, I picked up a couple of prenatal exercise DVDs from Amazon to help me to ensure I was exercising correctly and healthily for the baby.

10 Minute Solution: Prenatal Pilates: I really like this DVD; in fact, it my favorite workout that I do. You can either break up the workout in ten minute segments (which is fabulous when you short on time or energy) or you can do the entire program at one time. I really love the segment options: buns thighs, standing pilates, core, flexibility and total body. Personally, I haven felt comfortable doing a lot of the core workouts, but otherwise the DVD is right up my alley.

Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga: Another great DVD! This work out offers the perfect amount of relaxation, stretching and toning for me. I don feel like I taking it easy, but I also don feel like I practicing tough poses that challenge my pregnant body too much. The perfect balance!

Summer Sanders Prenatal Workout: I only tried this DVD a few times (and I done the trimester exercises only) but I say this it definitely a workout! Summer is as cute as can be, but the exercises are pretty tough! I don think they are too much strain for any pregnant woman, but definitely can feel like a bit much for a non workout buff like me. Although it not my favorite, I still like this DVD when I up for a challenge. I simply modify the number and length of the exercises to fit what works for me.

I try to do two of these DVD at least once a week and add in long walks once or twice a week, as well. I wish I could do more, but that all my schedule and second trimester energy permit! I do have to say that after I workout, I feel great. Whether I stretched out during yoga, got my heart rate up while walking or toned my body during pilates, I feel stronger and better equipped to carry my little guy and, eventually, deliver him.

I certainly not a workout expert and I would wholly advise you to consult your doctor before choosing any prenatal work out plan, but this is my two cents!

What are your thoughts on exercising while pregnant?

I totally thought I was going to be one of those active exercising healthy pregnant women but with a schedule of shift work and being on my feet for almost 12 hours at work that went down the drain. By the te I recovered i wasn interesting in doing any extra exercise because I am going back to work. I been off work for 2 weeks and am just starting to get my energy back (34weeks today) and have been walking more. The idea of yoga/Pilates videos crossed my mind and maybe it still worth trying for the next 6 weeks but I keep with the random walks as long as I can!

I get my exercise from dance classes and from being in musical shows, so the idea of exercising for the sake of exercising is foreign to me and frankly seems boring. I had to drop out of my adult ballet class after my first trimester because they were starting to work on the recital routine and I pretty sure nobody wants to see an 8 month pregnant lady doing ballet! So now I concerned that I not getting enough exercise so I tempted to try one of these DVDs. I a putterer though, when I get home from my desk job I wander around the house tidying up and working on the nursery (I hardly sit down) so I think that counts as something right?!

I am 16 wks into my first pregnancy. Pre plus sign, I was doing kickboxing class 2 3x/wk and zumba 2 3x/wk, plus some moderate weight lifting 1 or 2x/wk. It may seem like a lot, but I was still overweight after holidays (I 5 normally 150 155 but always gain about 10 lbs during winter/holidays, so was at 170 mid Jan when found out I was pregnant) and I love the feeling I get after wking out. When I found out I was preggo, stopped the kickboxing (not because I had to but it just such an intense wkout, if I kept toning it down it pointless) and just did zumba. I still do it 3 4x/wk and lift weights 2x amazing how good I feel after exercising! And, between nausea wks 6 10,eating mostly local/organic dairy, meat, produce, and exercising I had actually lost 8 lbs and have only gained 4 of that back! I think it making for a much healthier pregnancy and, more comfortable, for that matter!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this post! I been a runner for the last couple of years but sustained back to back injuries in September and October (stress fracture and slipped meniscus) and then sustained injuries from a car accident in November (cracked ribs), so I was basically out of commission until mid December. After all of that downtime, it was incredibly hard to find my motivation and now that I in the early states of pregnancy, I worry about which activities and exercises are I signed up for a 5k on 6/2 but will most likely walk that, instead of trying to run. Now that I have hit the 3rd trimester although I am a bit tired I have been working out everyday for the past 3 weeks moderately. I walk and lift light weights. Problem is I have contractions the entire time I walk! But I have been feeling so much better since I have started walking. I plan to run a 5k 5weeks after my 4th csection. Wish me luck and good luck to you all!

This is my 3rd pregancy. My older kids are 9 11. Exercise is definitely important. I exercised up until the day before they were born (walking, light weights and the elliptical machine), which I think that and breast feeding allowed me to get back to my pre pregnancy weight in about 2 3 months. This time around, since I older, 40yo, I had to modify my exercise routine (which has been more intense than my workouts 9 years ago) at around 32 weeks. I 35 weeks right now. I was teaching a Hot Hula fitness class, going to Body Pump and spin/cycle class. My belly has gotten so big, it uncomfortable to sit on a stationary bike, the elliptical machine is great for pregnant women. I also started attending a Prenatal Yoga class, which has been awesome so far. On the days, I can make it to the gym, I been using the Leisa Hart FitMama Prenatal workout (a combination of salsa cardio, prenatal yoga and labor delivery exercises).

With my first child I didn know what exercise I could do and I didn take the time to find out reasoned that I probably shouldn strain myself physically the way I had before conception + I was super tired most of the time so I sat my rear on the couch most of the time. I ended up gaining over 40 pounds that took a year to get rid of. With my second I vowed not to let that happen again. I walked everyday, used a workout video and continued my run/jog at least through the first semester. I learned that I didn have to stop lifting weights, I just had to lower the amount as I grew and changed. There was an ENORMOUS difference between my first and second go around!

I kept up with my Winsor Pilates in the beginning of my pregnancy and walked on my treadmill almost every day throughout except in the summer because I did yard work, chased my neice and nephew around most days, hauled wood, did major cleaning in the new house we moved into and worked around 30 hours per week (on my feet). When the kids went back to their mom and the weather got colder I went back to the treadmill and still worked until the week before I delivered. I ate healthy and still gained 30 pounds, which my doctor said was perfect for my height and weight. I had a lot of energy throughout my pregnancy and I had a really good delivery. I think exercising definately helped!

I have Element Yoga and the 10 Minute Solutions DVD, I think the other might be a bit much for me but I don know much about it. I did the yoga DVD a lot during my first pregnancy and I wish I had kept doing it until delivery. 10 Minute Solutions is by far my favorite prenatal workout, I 23 weeks now and I do 20 minutes of it 6 days a week. It just the right level of challenge for me and I hope to continue with it. I also ride a stationary bike for at least 20 minutes at a moderate pace 5 days a week.

It a must! I bought the 10 minute pregnancy pilates video with my first pregnancy and really liked that I could customize it and that she offers accomodations for your trimester/size. I like that it a complete workout. And the ab workout that included for post pregnancy is decent too.

Pregnant with our second, I do it now maybe 1 2x a week. I also try to walk 1 2x a week if not more. My daughter is now 2 and I 32 weeks with our second. I exercised specifically more with my first, 3 4x a week, walk/ellyptical, weights and swimming. Now that I a Mommy of a toddler and pregnant, it a little harder for me to keep up with an exercise routine, so I just try to do the best I can, aiming for 3 days a week and if I get in more, great and if I don make that goal I let myself be okay with that also. But it really does help mentally and physically to exercise Teddy Bridgewater L Jersey during pregnancy, it makes for better labor, flexibility even with those extra pounds and big belly, keeping weight gain on track and for getting back into your shape after delivery.

It may have been a pretty long time since

Posted in Unspecified

It may have been a pretty long time since you last saw a functioning Blockbuster in the Allen Robinson Jaguars Jersey US as there are only a few hundred of them left in operation. Eh, were. You probably heard the news that Blockbuster decided to cease prolonging the inevitable and announced that they would finally shutter the 300 remaining company owned stores. In related news, I recently found my old Blockbuster card in an old wallet. It kind of made me sad I mean, any end of an era kind of makes me sad. Like many of you, I have fond memories of taking trips to the local Blockbuster. I did drown my sorrows in a Sons of Anarchy Netflix binge, so there that.

Anyway, Blockbuster went out in style. Check out the last Blockbuster movie rental ever, which occurred on Saturday. Well played, guys:This is indeed the end. Mostly. Blockbuster is closing all of its remaining company owned stores, but franchised stores across the country (and abroad) will be Authentic Blake Bortles Jersey able to remain open. Plus, the DVD by mail service will stay up and running for another month or so. Yeah kind of bleak.

is not an easy decision, yet consumer demand is clearly moving to digital distribution of video entertainment, said Joseph P. Clayton, DISH president and chief executive officer. our closing of Jaguars Marqise Lee Jersey the physical distribution elements of the business, we continue to see value in the Blockbuster brand, and we expect to leverage that brand as we continue to expand our digital offerings. that in mind, Blockbuster On Demand will stay up and running.
